About The Project
Designed around passive solar principles, this rammed earth and timber-lined home embraces natural light, thermal comfort and a strong connection to its surroundings.
The home’s layout wraps around a central courtyard, allowing Northern light to seep deep into the living spaces while creating a seamless relationship between indoor and outdoor environments. The combinations of rammed earth and timber introduces a balanced material palette, pairing the construction with the warmth and natural character of timber.
A key feature of the project is the use of Satinplank 80×14 VJ Tasmanian Oak, factory coated in Cutek. Installed across the ceiling, the lining boards extend from interior living areas to external alfresco spaces, visually linking the architecture and reinforcing a sense of continuity throughout the home.
Together, the material selection and passive design approach create a home that feels connected to its environment while delivering comfort, durability and timeless appeal.
