About The Project
Contrast in the Countryside — a collaboration between Darklight Design and Mark B Building.
This striking farmhouse, built on a local family farm in Boyanup and Capel, combines off-grid capability with solar passive design principles suited for the sandy flats.
Construction began in 2020, with a focus on creating a bold statement for a young family. The golden Spotted Gum timber cladding pairs beautifully with Colorbond steel, delivering a look of country luxe.
The contrasting materials flow from exterior walls to ceilings, welcoming guests into a warm and inviting home.
