Amara Residence

Burradoo, NSW

Amara by GüD Studio is a contemporary residence defined by a restrained material palette and a strong relationship between architecture and landscape. Light rendered forms, dark metal roofing and expansive glazing are brought together around a series of landscaped courtyards and outdoor living spaces.

For the project, we supplied our Trendplank Malvec timber cladding in a 120 × 19mm profile. The timber is used extensively across the residence, introducing a dark, textured element that contrasts with the lighter rendered surfaces and helps articulate the different volumes of the home.

The Malvec was supplied with a brushed face and pre-coated in WOCA Black, creating a deep, consistent finish while allowing the natural grain and texture of the timber to remain visible. Used across both vertical surfaces and sheltered overhead areas, the cladding establishes continuity throughout the architecture and creates a strong connection between the home’s internal and external spaces.

The wider 120mm Trendplank profile complements the scale and simplicity of the residence, while the dark finish provides a considered backdrop to the surrounding greenery, mature trees and lighter landscaping. Together, the timber and contrasting materials give Amara a distinctive yet understated character.
