Nido Early School

Located in Hawthorn East, Victoria, Nido Early School combines contemporary learning environments with warm, natural materials to create welcoming spaces for children and educators.

Internally, the project features Proplank Click-in Batten system in Blackbutt, selected to introduce the warmth and character of natural timber throughout the ceiling. The 60x20mm Block profile battens provide a clean, linear appearance, while the concealed click-in installation system delivers a consistent finish with efficiency installation and future accessibility.

To support the acoustic requirements of a busy childcare environments, the battens have been installed with black acoustic backing, helping to reduce sound reverberation while maintaining the refined appearance of the timber lining. The Blackbutt battens were pre-coated in WOCA Clear and supplied end matched, enhancing the natural grain of the timber while providing a consistent factory-applied finish and reducing visible joins throughout the installation.

The combination of the Proplank Click-in Batten system and factory-coated Blackbutt creates a durable, low-maintenance lining solution that balances acoustic performance with the natural warmth of timber, making it well suited to contemporary education and childcare environments.
