This contemporary residence by CAPA Design brings together sweeping architectural forms with a refined palette of timber, concrete, render and glass. Built by Mulvay Builders, the home uses natural materials to introduce warmth and texture throughout its clean, contemporary design.
For the external soffits, we supplied our Trendplank Blackbutt cladding in a 70 × 19mm centre groove profile. The fine, consistent lines of Trendplank extend across the generous overhangs and sheltered outdoor areas, complementing the building’s long horizontal lines and curved architectural forms.
We supplied the Blackbutt sanded and pre-coated in WOCA White, creating a lighter, more subdued expression of the timber while retaining the natural grain and variation of the species. Against the light rendered surfaces, exposed concrete and expansive glazing, the Blackbutt introduces warmth and texture without competing with the home’s restrained material palette.
By carrying the same Trendplank profile across the soffits, the timber creates a consistent architectural detail throughout the residence, connecting the different areas of the home and providing a natural transition between the architecture and its surrounding landscape.
