Mortlock Timber were engaged by Philippa Mowbray Architects to assist with the supply of a timber decking product that would resemble a beach weathered boardwalk with low maintenance. Mortlock Timber recommended 175x40 Marineplank Jarrah Decking which has a slight domed surface to allow for better water run-off and comfort underfoot. The 40mm thick board allows for greater stability and low maintenance. Thank you to the team at both Philippa Mowbray Architects and Mosman Bay Construction who were excellent to work with right from design to completion of the build.
"The selection and location of materials for this home are chosen to transition from inside to outside. The soft bleached appeal is reminiscent of beach weathered timber – this feel is continued through to the casual entertaining deck, and pool deck. The jarrah boards are left bare to weather and grey. The secret fixed system by Mortlock allows for a clean and contemporary feel, while the wide board section provides a durable and robust material." - Dervla McCarey, Philippa Mowbray Architects
“The Jarrah decking supplied was an excellent product and we are really happy with the end result” - Mosman Bay Construction
